IMG_0030
Discovery Bay Yacht Clubs Lighted Boat Parade was a huge success! 21 Boats. All looking great!
This year's theme was “A Child's Dream”. Both the boats and the people's houses that we went by where in the Holiday spirit. There were 5 Non member boats and 16 member boats. The Awards where given out at the Yacht Club following the Parade. The party carried on until closing by the music of the Spin Doctor, Craig Chutka.
Commander's Cup went to Nancy and Ev Watrous for their specular freight train fulled with Santa and presents.
1st Place Large boats - A close contender for Commander's cup was won by the Milne's for their Castle were Santa's workshop was in full gear working on present for the Children.
2nd Place Large Boats - Stephanie Nazzisi and Darren Liden had their boat decorated with a winter wonderland of snowman, penguins and other winter activities with Santa's helpers waving to the crowds.
3rd Place Large Boats was a tie - Ron and Margaret Puccinelli had Santa on his sled pulled by reindeer. David and Susan Witte had Santa and his reindeer along with a Christmas tree high on the top of their boat.
1st Place Small Boats—36' and under - Cathy and Craig Chutka's Santa on sled with his reindeer took first place.
2nd Place Small Boats - Cathy and Dave Realder Adorned their boat with multicolored lights, Christmas Trees and other holiday items.
3rd Place Small Boats - Carolyn and Dick Jamison tug boat was looked great as Candyland.
Thank you so much for making this a great season. Many people watched from the house parties along the parade route. Please keep in mind that this is a fun event and Discovery Bay Yacht Club welcomes anyone who would like to participate in both the Opening Day Parade and the next years Lighted Boat
Parade. Have a wonderful Holiday and a Happy New Year.
